A persisting wound is one which heals very slowly, not at all or is recurring. Some wounds are non-healing which may be caused by a diversity of different medical conditions that can delay or impede the healing process.
Some types of slow or non-healing wounds include: Surgical wounds, Pressure ulcers and bed sores, diabetic ulcers, venous/stasis ulcers, traumatic wounds, wound flaps, burns, amputations
